ASAP is an all-volunteer organization, so there is ample opportunity to volunteer! From our volunteer Board of Directors, to one time outreach events, ASAP can benefit from your involvement!

Some volunteer opportunities include:

  • Leadership - If you are truly passionate about animal welfare, why not consider joining our Board of Directors where you can help make the decisions that will impact the lives of homeless pets in West Richland. For more information on that commitment, contact us at
  • Animal Care Coordinator - This position will coordinate veterinary care between West Richland Animal Control, veterinary clinics, and foster and adoptive families. For full job description, click here.
  • Outreach Event Volunteer - Because the West Richland Shelter sits on private land and is currently inaccessible to the public, ASAP provides routine outreach events where animals can be viewed for adoption or foster placement. These events utilize numerous volunteers in a variety of capacities, including dog walking, event set up, and numerous other activities. Volunteers under the age of 18 are welcome with adult supervision.
  • Fundraising - As a non-profit, ASAP depends on fundraising to continue to provide services and outreach to the community. Whether you are an experienced fund-raiser, experienced in grant writing, or just want to help, we can find a role you will enjoy and feel appreciated in. Check our Calendar of Events for upcoming opportunities to volunteer, or email Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Other Opportunities - Don't see what you're looking for listed? Do you have a skill or gift you'd like to share? Contact our Volunteer Coordinator and let us know how you'd like to help!
